Hello! I’m Amanda-Hutton Sanderson, owner and designer of Hutton & Ray Design. I hold a B.A. in Interior Design from Mississippi State and a B.A. in Studio Art from Birmingham-Southern College, blending a strong creative foundation with a thoughtful, practical approach to design. My early career included internships and roles with several commercial design firms, where I gained experience on projects spanning small- to large-scale healthcare and corporate environments.
In 2019, I launched Hutton & Ray Design to follow my passion for residential design. Since then, I have worked on projects of every scale from simple design refreshes to small- and large-scale home renovations and new construction.
My design philosophy centers on striking a balance between function and beauty. Through a streamlined design process, I help clients create homes that reflect their style while working seamlessly for everyday life. - Up to 1-hour in-home design consultation (Up to 2 hours for a whole home assessment)
- Exploration of design goals and style preferences
- A detailed scope of work outlining all design recommendations
- Contractor referrals, if applicable
Design Consultation Fee: $250 ($450 for a whole home assessment)
Paint Color Consultation
This specialized consultation helps you select the perfect paint colors to complement your furnishings, finishes, and overall home aesthetic. It may be applied to an interior or exterior color scheme and includes:
- Up to 1-hour in-home color assessment
- Personalized paint color recommendations
- A detailed paint schedule
- Painter referrals, as needed

Our full-scope design services are for clients who want guidance throughout the entire design process. From concept to completion, we help you create a beautiful, cohesive space that perfectly expresses your style. Project design services begin after a design consultation and include:
- A custom 2D concept board for visual guidance, as needed
- A professional floor plan, if space planning is needed
- Vendor meetings to select furniture, fixtures, and finishes
- In-home design presentations, when preferred
- Detailed specifications for all selected items
- Ongoing communication and coordination with contractors and vendors
- Site visits throughout construction and installation
